The Coach House Accomodation
For details of accomodation click here.
Residential courses in Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Crafts, Writing and lots more are held throughout the year at The Coach House, a country house of great character surrounded by delightful landscaped gardens bordered by a stream and waterfall, and enjoying impressive views across the wooded hillsides of the Wye Valley, an area of outstanding natural beauty.
The Coach House has been modernised for comfort without losing any of its original charm and accommodation is in luxurious, well-furnished bedrooms, many with ensuite facilities.
The philosophy here is that a well-fed, well-rested artist is all the more creative, and at the Centre inspirational tuition goes hand-in-hand with creature comforts.
Local produce is lovingly cooked and served in an atmosphere of homely conviviality and lively conversation and comments in the visitors' book pay testimony to the friendliness and warmth of the staff with meals frequently mentioned as a highlight.
All styles and abilities, including complete beginners, and companions not taking the courses are welcome. The Wye Valley is ideal for walking and seeing wildlife. There are also golf courses, riding stables, castles at Chepstow, Raglan, Goodrich and Caldicot and Tintern Abbey nearby. Comprising 10 guest bedrooms and spacious communal rooms it houses a superb studio overlooking the garden.
Weekend, 5 day courses are available to residential and day students and students are welcome to attend all or just part of any of the courses.
We also have a ground floor bedroom suitable for wheelchair users.
We hope that you will find an opportunity to come to the Wye
Valley Arts Centre this year to enjoy the relaxation and our beautiful surroundings
- the perfect creative environment.
THE CHARITABLE TRUST
This year we are hoping to launch our Charitable Trust related to the Arts Centre and it is our intention to provide subsidised weekend workshops in Arts and Crafts for socially disadvantaged children, possibly in their last year at primary school just before starting secondary education. A percentage of the profits of the Arts Centre will be donated to this Trust.
The Wye Valley Arts Centre is based in The Coach House where residential courses in Painting, Drawing, Sculpture, Crafts and Literature are held throughout the year.
